Krista Allen made her “The Bold and the Beautiful” debut in December 2021 as a recast Taylor Hayes, making her the second actress to play the role since the 1990s. Hunter Tylo, who created the character in 1990 and last appeared on the CBS soap opera in 2019 (via IMDb), declined an invitation to return, so Allen was cast and has fit into the role almost seamlessly (via Entertainment Weekly).
She has chemistry with the actors who play Taylor’s children, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Steffy and Matthew Atkinson as Thomas. Plus, she has Taylor doing some surprising things, including encouraging Steffy to invite arch-enemy Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) for Christmas. So, Allen’s Taylor is already performing miracles. When news of Allen’s casting broke on social media, the actress expressed her excitement with a tweet once she was finally able to talk about it. “This is gonna be a fun one! Very excited to step into this iconic role and be back on Daytime after 25 years!” Of course, Allen was referring to her last soap role as Billie Reed on “Days of Our Lives.” But what’s the one thing that helped the actress land this coveted and iconic role? Well, it turns out that it was all in the hair.
